Furious

Very jarring show, on one hand, these men make me so angry. So angry. Both the ones that are meant to be seen as plain villainous in their disregard for women, and the ones that play more “sympathetic” characters. The latter particularly feed a terrible rage in me, pleading for forgiveness from the women, asking for mommy to absolve them while doing absolutely nothing to lessen their harm.

There’s also a, clear in my opinion, parallel between Alice and Catherine, in the way they step outside themselves when it serves a purpose. In Catherine it’s a visual, more dramatic transformation, with the wigs and the masks, even the outfits. With Alice it is more fragmented, but the sharpest point is when she is in an interview and mirrors the person she’s talking with (I lived in a place like this, my father was an alcoholic, etc).
